Bushfires in Tasmania have a significant effect on the forest industry.

Private Forests Tasmania can assist private forest owners determine how to respond to the bushfires by linking them with the information and assistance required.  Please contact us at admin@pft.tas.gov.au.

Please keep up-to-date with bushfires within your area by visiting the Tasmanian Fire Service website www.fire.tas.gov.au or the TasALERT website www.alert.tas.gov.au and call 000 in an emergency.

If you are interested in particular detail of Tasmanian bush fires and the areas burnt, you can view publicly available information on TheLIST.

Visit www.thelist.tas.gov.au, select LISTMap. Select LAYERS from right hand side of screen, ADD LAYER, scroll to EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, select INCIDENT FEEDS, and select the green + button to add FIRE BOUNDARIES FROM TFS WEBSITE. Close the pop up box and zoom to view areas affected.

Bushfire Prevention at Forest Operations

This information has been developed by the Tasmanian Forest Industry Fire Management Committee (FIFMC) to minimise the incidence of wildfire resulting from forest and related operations.  It outlines minimum fire equipment requirements for forest operations and procedures to follow to reduce the risk of fire.
