Hardwood Plantation Portal

In following up on a recommendation of the Martin Ferguson AO chaired Panel, PFT is now providing information for landowners who have leased land to now insolvent MIS companies.  It can be accessed by clicking on the "Hardwood Plantation Portal" tab.  We are regularly updating this information and have recently added advice we received on insurance options for landowners.  We are also waiting to hear from other insurers that we approached and will post when and if it becomes available.

The terms of reference for the panel tasked it to report and make recommendations to the Minister for Energy and Resources specifically with respect to the hardwood plantation resource.  We are now aware, however, that some landowners leased land used in Gunns' MIS projects that was in fact planted with softwood (i.e. radiata pine).  As the advice on the Hardwood Plantation Portal is general in nature it is just as valid for those in that situation as it is for landlords with hardwood plantations.
